I flew to Cairo three years ago with Oman Air. On the morning return, we waited three hours to get on the plane because of mechanical problems. We waited on the plane another three hours, no one telling us anything, then they asked us to get back on the bus for the departure lounge. Then we waited until 11 pm that night, before they finally told us there would be no flight and they took us to a hotel. During the wait, no one told us any details. They were purposefully vague. They made an evening announcement that free pizza would be served, passed out to the crowd. Of course, it was only given to Omanis. Indians and Westerners were ignored. We flew out the next morning, no info ever given except that there was a mechanical problem. I'm sure there was, but they probably knew from the morning, and let us wait all day just so they could get discount hotel rooms to pile us into. I haven't flown Oman Air since. |

It sounds like they were trained by the same people who run all of the American airlines.

I had a similar experience on Oman Air from Cairo to Muscat about 7 years ago. Have avoided flying with them ever since. GulfAir was similarly lousy. Do they even still exist? |
