Who's up for a boat ride on the canals of Xochimilco?

We're organizing an outing for newly arrived teachers and veterans alike for Saturday, March 9th.

We'll meet at embarcadero Nativitas - one of the larger launch points - for a 3 or 4 hour cruise. Meet up at 12 noon.

I'll be there if I can! I haven't been to Xochimilco yet so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Anybody needing detailed directions on how to get to the meeting place, please ask: I can provide. Specify whether taxi, public transport or own car, and which general direction youre coming from.

Here's the google map link to locate the meeting spot...

If you agree Notamiss, shall we meet at the sign where the boat prices are posted? It's close to the blue bridge.

Anyone who wants it can message me to exchange cell numbers in case one needs to call in for better directions.

Hmm...just checked the weather forecast...apparently the weekend will see a cold front come through. Saturday high of 17C and a low around freezing(!). I was hoping the warm spell we have on right now would hold.

Let's keep an eye on this to see if it changes. I don't find it very pleasant on the boats when it's chilly.

That's what I was thinking! The highest temperatures will be when you are there in the afternoon, and 17C is cold?! Shocked

17 is a far cry from 28 or 30! Much more fun out there on a nice warm sunny day...not overcast, windy and chilly. Cold beers are best on a hot day. Wink

I'll be going regardless...

Shoot, etoile and notamiss (and anyone else planning to join us), would you mind if we pushed this back to Saturday the 8th?

Just learned my car can't be on the road that Saturday...I was to ferry 6 people down. We can get there by other means but this coupled with the weather makes me think it's just as easy to push it back one weekend.

Yes, even if your vehicle passes on the retest, the weather should be better the next week! That would be Saturday the 9th.

I'm afraid I can't get a retest until next week...too busy.

Ok, so the 9th (thank you) it is then...same time, same place.
