|

Hi everyone,
I'm a newcomer to this forum but I am planning to move to BA to find an ESL teaching job this July. I have a TEFL, college degree and some ESL teaching experience and a high level of Spanish. I know it is likely I will be teaching in an instituto at least while I get more experience, which isn't a lot of money.
I know that the second semester of schools starts in July or beginning of August. WHEN in July does it make sense to book my ticket for?
Thanks so much,
Laura |

Hi.
Not the best time to look for work, but you might find something.
Practically all TEFL in Argentina means working illegally and doing 3-month visa runs, and you should be aware of that. There might still be people who spend two years there on tourist visas, but the border guards are onto it.
The best payers are offering about 60 pesos per hour, very tough to make up a living wage on. No insurance, no holiday pay, no sick pay - don't have an accident or get sick! |
