I am going to Thailand to get my tefl/tesol certification this summer or fall and would like to know if anyone knows about EF and Wallstreet English schools. All feedback and opinions (good & bad) of their experiences would be appreciated.

EF is a bog standard language school and will vary from school to school as its a chain. Haven't heard anything about the Thailand chains. NO news is usually good news in the EFL/ESL business though.

Wall Street is a bit different than the standard language school. Students study on computer first and then when they finish a module, they do a short course with a teacher (you) and other students who have finished that module. Students can study at their own pace. Ive heard that Wall Street expects their teachers to spend a good deal of time in the "English Lounge" chatting with students. THey tend to want to hire very business like presentable looking teachers so you had better not have tatoos or long hair. Wall Street also pays much more than standard language schools. I think they start at about 45,000 baht/month (standard is about 30-40,000/mth or about 350-500 baht/hour). Wall Street may start at less these days as they have not done well in Bangkok the past couple years (after making a huge splash on the scene 6-7 or so years ago). I think they have 2 or 3 branches in Bangkok.

Wall Street would be your best bet for money and reputation IMO.

AFAIK There is no EF in Thailand.
