Hi all, i am a teacher in Italy I have been teaching here for the past 8 months, I have just been told that i am getting a pay decrease. cause of some min wage law that has been adjusted, Im not sure what it was before but now I am suppose to get 10.40ph!!! now i sure i not crazy but no one here seems to know about it. has anyone heard/read anything on this? if i cant find any information then i will be promtly telling them where to sick their 10.40.
any info please

I haven't heard of this law. Does it apply to any particular sector, such as primary state schools etc?
Whereabouts are you teaching in Italy? I guess in some areas 10.40 might be considered good pay, but not in Rome. I've heard of some schools here paying 8 or 9 euro net, which is scandalous. |

I am in Naples,
I work for another school and here the going rate is about $14-15ph.
They havnt given me any information on where and when this law apparently came through.
I have talked to other teachers and no one knows anything, but i have given my school notice if they dont keep it as is. so will see the out come
I think it was just their way of getting us to agree on the decrease.
