I'm in grad school, and rediscovering some of my favorite words. I thought I'd start posting them here and invite others to do the same.

behoove
loath
ubiquitous
acerbic

Yes, I see a clear connection between each of your words and grad school, smithrn Laughing .

"Malaria"; such a pretty word.

"Brouhaha"; great in print, aggravating when spoken.

"Victuals"

"Debacle"

I also like "penultimate".

elation
ferocity
verdant
festooned

The vocabulary of language classes can be pared back to what’s simple and necessary or it can feel strictly utilitarian depending on the purpose of the class. I felt I rediscovered a much richer vocabulary from either reading or being back in English speaking countries and spending time around those who read.

I am a fan of flabbergasted. I also like penultimate. But even more important, I know what all the listed words mean, haha

I think it should depend on whether or not said foreign words have been "commandeered" by English speakers. Otherwise, it means we can't use stuff like "latte", "grande", etc.; all the fast-food, yuppie coffee-shop crowd can't play.

Speaking of which, can we used acronyms and portmanteaus? There's another one I like, "portmanteau".

This could get interesting.
