Hi all

I'm not a newbie to the Gulf anymore but I have a friend who is and she's recently accepted a position to teach 5th grade in the school listed above in the subject line.

She's already experiencing a few issues with them and I don't believe she's officially signed the contract yet...

Is anyone familiar with this school at all? She found the job through TIE recruiters.

This is the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid, she would have issues with most schools in the GCC at this time of year.

EMS is a school that is run and mostly staffed by Asians. Most students will be from MENA or Asia.

I have no direct knowledge of the school other than the above.

Sorry to jump on an ancient thread but do you have any updated info on working at EMS Doha? I am considering accepting a contract with them as a Grade 2 teacher. They've been pretty upfront - agreeing that the pay is low and the classes are big with some discipline problems - but they also seem genuinely friendly and honest, which is good.

Any feedback from former or current EMS teachers would be great.

If anyone is seeking information on this school, I'd advise joining International Schools Review. It's cheap and it's filled with information on many international schools. From what I read on the site, EMS (Doha) has very lackluster reviews. Few people have anything good to say about them and apparently a lot of it has to do with HR/visa process. I'm not surprised since this is a failing for many GCC schools.
