Hi Mick,

Here's my educated guess: unless things have changed dramatically in the five years since I last visited Vietnam, the expat population is considerably larger in Ho Chi Minh City. That being said, it appears that the expat population is growing in Hanoi, so I don't think you will have any problems finding roommates in either city.

In your search for a roommate, it might not be a bad idea to post on the Mekong ESL forum. Out of curiousity, when do you plan on arriving in Vietnam?

Thanks for the mention, DJ. Finding lodgings in HCMC is often done through bi-lingual intermediaries. You will find ads for them along De Tham and in the Ghetto (off Le Thanh Ton in District 1).
