|
|
I am an American citizen & recently got my TEFL certificate from Kaplan Int'l Colleges in Newark NJ. What are the possibilities of my finding work in the UK, London area?? I love London & want to get back asap. I lived in London twice before. My visa was dependent on my ex-wife's. I have an NI# & a British bank acct with about £100 left but, no visa. Any suggestions, advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Unless you still have a local wife and a visa, I think the outlook is bleaker than the wintry weather. Sorry. |

UK teachers wanting to move to the US to work face similar impossible challenges. Just not going to happen. |

If you have registsred teacher stats it MIGHT be a possibility but a Hyman Kaplan paper will not cut the mustard.
Aberdeen were recently looking to Canada to supply teachers for local schools. The catch there is that housing is so expensive in Aberdeen that no one on a teacher's salary can afford to live there.

The UK is already one of the worst places to be an English teacher and that's not considering you'd be there visa-less and a yank. You'd probably be better off delivering sandwiches or something.

You will have a much nicer life style if you can arrange to marry a royal - or least a rich aristo. For reasonable fees I can arrange introductions.
Seriously EFL teaching in UK is not a wise career choice. |

If you know of a Brit looking to marry a Yank I would definitely consider it. It would be strictly a business transaction. I almost did twice before & would consider it again. I am an actor by trade & loved living in London & travelling thru Europe. I'm bored to tears in NY. [quotea royal - or least a rich aristo. For reasonable fees I can arrange introductions.

Can't you tell when someone is making a joke !? I sentence you to stay in NYC for ever - or at least until death. |
