Dear Trip,

"Oh you misunderstood. All...from the list I provided. If you think I meant every single bank in America then I don't know what to say."

Oh, I see - the list you provided. Is this the list you mean?

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=financial+assistance+furloughed+employees#

But no, I guess it can't be because you provided that list after you wrote ". . . who have all pleged . . . "

Still waiting for those generous utility companies Very Happy

Regards,
John

The list embedded in the sentence you are so drastically nitpicking to detract from the shame that your daughter isn't prepared for this most obvious turn of events.

Dear Johnslat

Yes, indeed the shame, the shame. How obvious it was that the entire government would be shut down. And how careless of any state employee not to have prepared for this eventuality. I'd be hanging my head, I would.

Best wishes

Sasha

Oh I am SO ashamed, And what makes it even WORSE is that my daughter is NOT ashamed.

So, now I must bear the shame of a shamless daughter. How shameful Very Happy

Do you happen to have a link proving you have a daughter who isn't ashamed?

I have to say this is a great thread. I get to be Russian, then American, and now British. So multi-kulti. A true melting-pot : )

Just helping me narrow the list down. Note the lack of denial.

It is a big world out there. But, you already have your opinion formed. Based on facts and experience, of course.

OK. To make it easier, I'll deny all those other attempts. Still a big world out there. And as for the post that was resurrected, many Russians refer to most of the world's ailments as 'amerikanskii', and tend to assume all English speakers are American, even when they are not.

Anyway, none of this is relevant to the point that the rest of the developed world is quite amazed that universal healthcare could be divisive enough to shut down a government. But, hey don't worry about it. It is just my sour grapes talking. Ooooh, I am so bitter now I could really go postal! Sadly my benighted government doesn't allow all and sundry to purchase automatic weapons. Arrrgghhh! Can you feel the envy there? Such bitterness on my part. All that free education, dental care, medical insurance, unemployment benefit doesn't make up for the fact that I do not have the right to bear arms...

Your continual defense only serves to further sour your grapes.
