One of the ancients still at KFUPM taught in Djibouti in the dim and distant past. He was required to prove proficiency in the French language - in order to teach English.
An ability to spell the name of the country might also be expected. |

I had an offer from Djibouti 2 weeks ago but passed - the salary was a bit low for a high COL city.....that is unless you can subsist on a diet of millet. |

Very poor country but good diving snorkeling. Electric bills can be very high (A/C ....quite hot) . Foreigners I knew there were all military , scuba crew & a few japanese dudes teaching car mechanics for peanuts.
think the pay is low so not a career thing, but can enjoy the markets & drinkin w/ some french soldiers in town most evenings... food is actually alright for a place that grows very little.
good luck |

Visas are only given to those who can get the country's name right. |
