Here are all the matches and times, some of those games will be on at 2am where I am Evil or Very Mad

Still get excited about these big sporting tournaments even though they've turned into huge corporate sell-outs. The games lost its soul I tell yer.

I'll go for an England win......providing they can get Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale and Ronaldo to change nationality.

Fat old Ronaldo? He would be serving Brazil by playing for England, haha. Or did you mean Cristiano Ronaldo, a whole other ballgame.

A fat old Ronaldo from his Barcelona days would be OK. He was some player!
I read that he's not fat anymore now, he went on some celebrity get fit TV programme Smile

Brazil giving FIFA hell--haha! I say make FIFA squirm.

But this is one reason why I supported England in 2018 and U S and A in 2022. With those two countries they will get the preparations job done well in advance and everything will run smoothly. IMHO.

I'm skeptical of Qatar in 2022.

Next prediction--Japan gets first or second in Group C, but loses in the Round of 16 to their Group D opponent.

I really think Japan can win Group C and can play the Group D opponent in the Round of 16 tough but they will lose that Round of 16 match late in the match--perhaps after the 80th minute by a score of 2-1.

Warm regards,

Who clears the group stages?

For now I won't name first place or second place teams in their respective groups, I'll just name the two that I think will get through to the Round of 16.

Group A: Brazil, Croatia
Group B: Spain, the Netherlands
Group C: Japan, Colombia
Group D: Uruguay, Italy
Group E: Switzerland, France
Group F: Argentina, Nigeria
Group G: Germany, United States
Group H: Belgium, South Korea

Oh! Germany and Ghana in the same group two Cups in a row! Kevin Prince Boateng vs. Jerome Boateng, Part II?

Hmm...to be honest Group G looks the toughest to me: Germany and...? I may have to change that U.S. nod there and could give it to either Portugal or Ghana. I do have the Ghana-U.S. Round of 16 match from the 2010 Cup and the 2006 Ghana-U.S. group match fresh in my mind.

I do say that Germany wins Group G with 9 points.

Warm regards,
fat_chris

Sasha, expressions of bourgeois nationalist sentiment are most inappropriate for Party stalwarts. Wink

Hardly expressions of bourgeois sentiment. By 2018 the whole world will have been annexed. So Russia is bound to be the Cup winner! : )

Urrrrrrraaaaa! Yet more VICTORY!!!

Of course, it will spell the end of TEFL as we know it. Russian will be the only language needed in this brave new world. But given the appalling level of ideological commitment evinced by most teflers, this is probably no loss for mankind.

Forward! To Victory! First we take World Cup 2018! Then the world!!!

Lee's pretty good in "Full Metal Jacket," but really, he made Gunny Hartman too caring and compassionate.

At Parris Island, our D.I.s had a little game called "Flood and Air Raid." A D.I. would yell out, "OK, you *&%$#@s, it's a FLOOD" and we'd have to get everything - foot lockers, rifles, spit-shined boots, all our gear, up on the top rack, along with the two of us. Then, it would be time for "AIR RAID" and everything (including us) would have to be stowed under the bottom rack.

Well, one day, this went on for about an hour or so until finally, one recruit got so frustrated and mad that when a FLOOD was called, he picked up his full foot locker and just heaved it over the top rack. It sailed into the air and hit another recruit as it descended. That guy fell to the deck, unconscious, bleeding heavily from his head.

At this point, we all figured. "Ah, they've gone TOO far now."

Well, the senior drill instructor, Staff Sgt, Caukins (aka "The Cobra") walked over to the guy (carefully avoiding the blood pooling on the deck), looked down, and then proceeded to kick the recruit, yelling, "GET UP, YOU %^*%$#."

It was then that we all knew for certain that we were in the hands of genuine psychopathic sadists.

Yup, the Gunny, was much too nice a guy. Very Happy

Regards,
John

Perhaps Sasha's re-education centres aren't so bad after all!
