Hi,

I am 37 and only have a BA in English Lit and one month TEFL course, both from the same university, if that helps. I've done teaching in China for 7 years and 1 year in the gulf, but no CELTA or Masters degree (financially, getting a MA is out of the question as well).

I am also quite fluent in mandarin chinese (putonghua).

What would my chances be of finding work in Taiwan, bearing in mind, I do not like teaching kindergarten.

Regards
SP

Search for my post "On Getting Hired in Tainan". I share my experiences over the past year and a half. You have more experience than I did when I arrived, plus I'm almost 15 years older.

Basically I spent my first year teaching kids until I was able to get work teaching adults. Now I only teach adults. Full-time work is not easy to come by though, and part-time jobs seldom offer work visas.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, but I may well have to forget it. I am not good at teaching kids, hate teaching them, and can't afford the rent in taiwan.

Thanks again
