|

Hello,
I have a question that I was hoping could be answered!
From what I've read, the best time to get hired as an ESL teacher in Hong Kong is Aug/Sept. I am planning to be in Hong Kong by late Nov / early Dec and am hoping to find a job before I leave home (Vancouver, BC).
I have a university degree, will be getting my CELTA certificate and hope to do some ESL volunteer work or even teaching in Vancouver.
Is this reasonable -- will I be able to find a job for December...even if it is a few months after the main hiring time?
Any advice or helpful points would be great!
Thanks :) |

Language centres (mills) hire year round - specially the ones that are so bad they find it hard to hold on to staff.
There might be a few kindergarten jobs going at the beginning of 2nd semester (just after Chinese New Year).
If you're looking for a primary school or above position, then you need to have a couple of years full time experience elsewhere before you stand a realistic chance here. |
