I applied and am pretty confident in my chances of getting accepted. I have a friend that is currently participating (living in Madrid) and she spoke very highly of it. She said she makes 1000 euro a month living in Madrid (smaller towns make 700) and only works around 15 hours a week, leaving time to pursue private classes for extra income.

I was wondering if anyone else had experience with it and wanted to share anything positive or negative.

What are the criteria for being accepted on the Language an Cultural Assistant programme? Do you have to be under 30 years old?

AWAKEN! AWAKEN, THREAD! Smile

So completely unexpectedly I've just received an email indicating that I've been accepted into the auxiliares de conversacion program (got my first choice, Andalucia!).

My biggest concern is the stipend (minimum 700 euros/$935 USD per month) and cost of living. I've heard some people say you need to have a few thousand in savings to supplement the stipend. Is this true? I know cost of living varies depending on where you live, but anyone willing to share their experiences would be soooo very much appreciated!

Thank you!
