Hi, I am finding no work here in BKK. I have been applying everywhere online (very few job postings on Ajarn or elsewhere) and walking into any language school that I have seen. So far nothing and a couple language schools have told me that because of the protests they have slowed down hiring. I am aware the capital is currently going through some difficult political conflicts but this is causing me to think I need to leave BKK for work in another part of the country at least until this settles down.

I am native English speaker, young, white with a BA from US college and Tefl experience so my lack of offers is not due to being an undesirable candidate.
Can anyone offer some perspective on the lack of job offers at the moment or advice?

Have you been sticking to language schools? Give it until late April-early May then the regular school semester will be starting up.

Hello there,

My advice is if you cannot find a teaching job in Bangkok head up to Khon Kaen or Nong Khai in Isaan Land and you will be flooded with job offers.
Good luck! Smile

From what I have heard from people who have worked at several of their schools the "fun" is not of the good kind.

Perhaps a hint of sarcasm hidden in there somewhere?

No, just more intentional disinformation, compliments of Eagle Eyes 2.0.
