I have searched for old posts, but couldn't find much on the topic.

I will be going to Chile in Jan, and am leaning towards doing the CELTA, as I have read that it is the most reputable world-wide.

I cannot find much info though, regarding the quality of these programs in Santiago. If the CELTA is new in Chile, perhaps their program is inferior to the IDELT at Bridge?

I intend to do the training in Santiago, unless anyone has heard of a program in Iquique...?

Thanks!

I believe that CELTA is like McDonald's, you're going to get the same basic thing regardless of where you take the course. All other considerations being equal, I'd go with CELTA over the Bridge IDELT because, as you already pointed out, it's the most reputable worldwide.

Please keep us posted on your experiences in Chile. Sharing your stories makes it easier for others who choose to follow in your footsteps later.

Best wishes!

Try this one in Santiago - http://schoolservices.britanico.cl/index.php/celta-intensive-programme-january-2015/

Have heard it's good, no personal experience. Never heard of Bridge IDELT by the way.

I never thanked for responses. Thanks! Very Happy

I ended up deciding not to do any training in Chile. I am back in Canada now finishing my BA and will probably head to Colombia to do my CELTA later in the year. And the adventure shall resume from there.

(I did spend a few months in Chile though so although I wouldn't be useful in terms of teaching related matters, I can still answer general questions about Chile)
