Hi everyone,

I will be a college graduate in May with very minimal teaching experience (taught two 1 credit classes this semester and last semester). I have three questions:

1. How tough for me is it to get a visa and find a job?

2. Do I need a certification?

3. How comfortably will I be able to live? I will have about $2500 dollars save up.

It is tough. You will be competing against EU citizens who don't need visas and who have better qualifications than yours. Yes, you would need certification - simply because almost every single newbie on this job market has one. You've already got the downsides of being young and without the right passport -add in no cert and you are most likely doomed to failure.

Suggest you read some of the earlier threads here about finding a job in Germany as a US citizen. It's do-able but you will likely need
1. good timing
2. a solid CELTA/equivalent cert
3. more back up money than 2,500 USD
4. to come here to interview in person (jobs in Central Europe are not found from abroad except in rare cases).
