It appears now that ADNOC is dispensing with the services of those over "a certain age".Is this in line with company policy?Or is it a matter of ditching all non-locals as part of an "Emiratization"process nationally? Were ATI hiring at TESoL-Arabia and then telling hirees they were no longer required? If so how come they are expecting more students in September as they are building more hostels?

of course robin banks you know it's national 'age' policy, which in any gulf country can be tossed aside (in this case for non-non-native-speakers Wink and of course the nationals) when influential relationships (brown-nosing) are inserted into the formula, aka wasta tho not usually for the native speakers as in your case and others soon to be shown the door. Arrow

haven't heard about hostels expanding but that indeed student pop is and class size has and will stay it sounds like from all reports from within the prison compound

word is hirees were announced before being hired so prob means no shows, if word gets out of the dante's pit the place has become no one will go near, unless they up the pay of course, which i heard from the lackeys there that they keep bandying this about to try to stem any exodus, sounds like a sad state of affairs, no?

Hi,
ATI is undergoing a massive building to the complex-new, bigger library, hostel, gym, workshops, classrooms and enrollment is going up but teaching morale is going down as the proposed pay raise and grade scale increase did not materialize. I heard a rumour that they may even accept some students from other Gulf countries. They are not renewing certain teachers over 61 but if you have wasta and non-western, you can schmooze the manager.

Last semester, the teachers in the Basic and Foundation programs were offered a choice of either teaching 26-30 Ss per class or teaching 5 periods a day up from the usual 4. They opted for the larger classes but that did prove difficult and stressful. Enrollment is always on the rise at ATI especially after ATI took the lead from other institutions that paid students a monthly stipend depending on their grades.
