Be grateful it isn't an English pope sitting in the Vatican. Or he'd happily issue a bull permitting invasion and annexation of Scotland by the English throne...

Pope Adrian IV was English. In 1155 he published a bull urging Henry II to invade Ireland. Perhaps that's why there have been no English Popes since! Wink

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade,
May by thy mighty aid,
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
and like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush,
God save The King.

Come on, sing along now....

Good point! What will the national anthem of Scotland be after they leave the union? Can't still be God Save The Queen of the Fascist Regime. How about this?

No way, Sasha. Grrr! Mad

How about this one Gary? It has a certain resonance after last night's result.

Fratelli d'Italia,
l'Italia s'è desta,
dell'elmo di Scipio
s'è cinta la testa.
Dov'è la Vittoria?
Le porga la chioma,
ché schiava di Roma
Iddio la creò.

From my forthcoming book 'Hookers and Hypocrites, an ex-pats view of life in the Middle East.'

'I guess I’m a swallow of kinds and I’m enjoying an extended break from work, this time nearly three months in Tenerife, but funds are depleting rapidly and it's time to play job pot luck again. My strategy is clear, apply for everything. Well, almost everything, I discount active war zones, countries with oppressive regimes, and naturally Italy, but still manage to apply for over twenty jobs in multiple countries in less than half an hour. The rule is simple; I will take the first job to be offered.'

If you are foolish enough to follow that Youtube link by Sashadroogie you will see such revelations as -

"Lenin warned them about Stalin but was then murdered in South America."

If Obama says yes, he'll be confronted.
If Obama says no, he'll be confronted.
If Obama says nothing, he'll be confronted.
If Obama is not there, someone else will be confronted.

The leading comrade in Beijing has now expressed his preference for a NO Vote, viz "UKOK". See what happens when you become a "capitalist-roader" !

We should await with interest the views of the Maharajah of Bhopal. God forbid that we should pay any attention to the thoughts of the Scottish electorate !
