It's a flat 6% in whatever state "mid-Atlantic" is?
Most states in the US have a state and local municipal component, and some add or subtract for the type of item. Where I live in WA it's a flat 14%. Where I was in MO it was 7.25% as the base rate and up to 14.61% for certain things the State and municipality considered "luxuries", while 2 minutes down the road in another city it was 8.15% across the board. |

Maryland, and it was 6%. That's it. Local govt doesn't add to the taxes in MD.
PA was 7%, I believe. While DE was 0%. VA is around 5-6% I think.
I really haven't done much out west. You guys have some goofy sales taxes out there. |
