My cousin in the UK is interested in working for Sehir university as a lecturer. She has a PHD. Does anyone know if it is a good place to work for and what the packages are like? |

It is a little conservative (read religious). They seem to like the PM which is unusual.
The Prep school is not the best organised place academically, the DoS not being very qualified or talented. They do not like criticism or teachers who fail to keep students happy (just happy, nothing to do with education) The package can be good if you impress them in the interview which is not difficult to do.
Not a job for professionals is my impression but if you are coming here to travel and want to experience an average Istanbul uni, in terms of academic standards, Sehir is the place to be. |

I've heard that the prep school director has recently left, so things may be better next year. Salary plus housing allowance should get you between 4000 and 5000 lira per month. |

Actually this is not for a prep position. She has two PHDs. She was asked to teach a subject. She emailed me this morning saying she turned them down. Thank you. |
