Hi,

My friend's husband is a NNS of English and they're both planning on moving to the ME in 2015. She'll be teaching English and I'm not sure what he'll be doing, but presumably something corporate (he works in marketing now and has a background in HR).

Anyway, would he be better served by getting a TOEIC or IELTS score before applying for jobs? They're thinking about working/living in the UAE, OMAN or Qatar.

This thread really isn't about his employment prospects, but rather which exam is more widely accepted in the countries listed above.

Thanks. Smile

Does your friend have a job offer/job that will allow her to sponsor her hubby while he looks for a job?

He might be better served to find a job in industry depending on his qualifications

It would be the TOEIC, if you're asking which test would be more relevant for working in an international environment. Whether employers require a language test is probably debatable.
