You need to find a cushy job in a uni. Pay's not much but not many hours, so other work is doable. Also 12 months of the year and a room in digs for a small fee. |

I am still looking for that magic job, where I get 50 an hour, medical insurance and holiday pay, but I don't hold out much hope. |
I was just in Warsaw, 60Net is the norm, as per paid holidays and insurance, don't count on it. In big cities getting your foot in the door with some in-company sessions is your best bet. You'll get 100+ per hour. All you need is two reliable corpo clients and some privates.
If you just start your own business and register, you'll be able to call shots and pay for your own benefits. Private healthcare is not really that expensive either. Sometimes you might get lucky. At one point I had an account with Nordea [don't do it... just a warning] but I was able to get medical for a family of four for only 160pln / month as part of the deal. |

Sole proprietorship, I pay my own benefits and provide invoices. I never worked for less than that.
As a native, yet being reasonable, you should never charge less than 70pln for privates. I do 80 at this point. With schools, never go below 60 per 60 NET. If you do, you're pretty much getting gypped... big time.
You can actually make a lot more if you form groups. Your students pay less, but you make more, plus specialized courses... etc etc... 1600 per month... I can't even wrap my head around that figure. Even charging 50pln per 60, that's still only 32hrs per month... |

Got kids? Last time I checked, you had none, not in Poland at least; yet you keep posting about getting older, having children yaddy yadda... I'm good with two, no complaints.
Being a native in Poland opens many doors, you just need to spend less time complaining on message boards and more time actually being a part of the society. |

That seems to be accurate for those who made it. |

Try 29,000 PLN a month teaching 20 hours a week.
I'd rather 'make it' that way. |

I'm sure glad I never had kids when I was living there. A couple of my old colleagues (British) have landed themselves in a bit of a mess with it. They got their girlfriends pregnant and now they are stuck there. They are begging the schools for every hour they can get and now doing the same stuff they said they were not going to do before. They are slaves to the schools, having to do all the crap just to bump their zlotys up. I got an email off one of them the other day saying he's struggling like trapped rat, especially when it comes to the holidays.
In my last year I barely had enough to support myself, never mind a kid and a partner. |

In my opinion, it's pretty ridiculous to think that you could raise a child easily on a teacher's pay. I live pretty comfortably here and travel quite often. If you plan to have kids, do it when you've finished your teaching career. |

Eff me for all the bs written on here, this tops it. I've two kids and i'm far from destitute. Christ, there's someone i know who has 4 is the sole earner and had to pay for his house to be reroofed and he's doing well as a teacher. |
