after teaching for 1 year in ksa (and now starting my 2nd year) i have been looking at the job market in the GCC and i get the impression that KSA and Oman have alot of jobs in higher education . kuwait, qatar, uae also have jobs in higher education i have noticed that most of the jobs there are at grade school levels (k-12)

Does anybody have experience teaching at the grade school level in a GCC country and if so, could you share your thoughts?

Take a look at Teach Away's site which gives an overview about teaching in public and international schools in the GCC. You'll find that many of international school positions are for teaching content (e.g., history, social science, art, math, etc.) in English rather than ESOL. Teachers at the k-12 level should hold a teaching license from their home country and a degree major relevant to that subject area or one in education/elementary ed/secondary ed (for primary and secondary school positions). As such, teaching k-12 content versus teaching EFL in a foundation/prep year program is like apples and oranges. (It's also why there are few k-12 teachers posting on the ESL Cafe forums.) There are English language teaching positions in the UAE's vocational schools, which may or may not require licensure.
