Last year I spent a month in Nice trying to figure out the red tape to become an English teacher. I thought that, as an EU citizen, I could just start working. Ran out of money so I came to Malta where I had a job waiting.

There seems to be a catch-22 regarding establishing yourself as either an auto-entrepreneur or formateur independant. When filling out the paperwork, you need to provide an address, but nobody will rent to you until you have a job. Maybe I misunderstood, so I'm hoping someone can guide me. Do people just provide their hotel address until they've settled in?

Is there any chance of getting hired in France without being there, as in via Skype? I have experience teaching at companies (Italy), but I've heard that kind of work has dried up. Thanks in advance for any advice.
