Hi everyone

I am new to the TEFL world and looking for a job in Italy to start off my TEFL journey. I had an interview with BALA in Naples and just wondered if anyone had any experience of working for them? I'd value anyone's feedback on their experience of this school.

They said they pay cash and that its 700 euros guaranteed with overtime available. Is it standard for Italy to pay teachers in cash? I've heard mixed reviews of working in Italy, so just wondered if all jobs would be paid in cash.

Thanks

Very Happy

If you're not from an EU country, it's not going to happen.

If you're from the UK or other EU member country, and you're interviewing in person in Italy, you should be ok. 700 month will be tough to live off of most places, though.

Take it at your own risk. If your "employer" decides not to pay you at the end of the month , you have no legal recourse to recover any money as you cannot prove you were owed it in the first place. The school may well be lovely and welcoming now, but things may be very different when it comes to getting paid.

Another reason I thought it was a scam trying to attract illegal workers.
