Not necessarily. The CELTA as well as the SIT TESOL and Trinity CertTESOL appeal to employers mainly because these entry-level teaching qualifications include six hours of supervised and assessed teaching practice with real students. Ditto for an ESOL practicum through an accredited university TESOL degree program. In fact, my master's program entailed a semester-long ESOL practicum; I simply indicate that info on my CV along with my degree and that's suited overseas employers just fine. |
