Hello, all
After a year teaching in Saudi Arabia, I'm considering living and working in Tunisia. It looks great, Tunis especially. The only problem is the lack of online ads for jobs.
Has anyone here worked in Tunisia? What is the best way to go about looking for jobs? I'm easy between teaching kids or adults and not fussy about pay - more looking for somewhere that isn't going to mess me around (if there is such a place for someone with my qualifications and experience - I have an undergraduate degree in Arabic, and a CELTA). I looked around on the forums and the rest of the internet and can't find much on the subject.
Many thanks in advance! |

But, you should have probably started it on that board, not this one.

Tunisia is a country in North Africa best visited as a tourist...as is Morocco and Egypt. If money or savings is of no concern to you than consider teaching English there. Also when leaving the country there are severe currency restriction rules (you must declare all currency and other items of value you have in possession with you in person upon entry) or risk having them taken away from you upon leaving the country! ![Shocked](images/smiles/icon_eek.gif) |

Hello, Hashim, and welcome to the cafe!
It is easy to see why you would think the General Middle East board is the best place to ask for information about Tunisia, but try reposting on the General Africa board. You are more likely to get useful information there, if, indeed, there is anyone around with more current information. (I do know of two members who worked in Tunisia, and have since left, so they may spot your post there and chime in.)
Generally speaking, cross posting is discouraged, but in this case it makes sense to post in the General Africa forum.

The Middle East or North Africa is best not visited at all. I come to the Middle East for work. |
