If it's the genuine American international school there, you can expect Western conditions. It's probably one of the best jobs in the country to get, but they are apparently very tough on their teachers in terms of expectations.

And you need more than a random TEFL cert. and a degree to get a job there. MA and a teaching license are required, I'll wager.

You probably mean the International American School (IAS) on ul. Dembego, in Kabaty. Lots of EFL teachers wandering around Warsaw have some experience with them. They have an I.B. program, I believe but aren't anywhere nearly as respected as the official American School in Konstancin. IAS will hire just about anyone with a bit of teaching experience, they will probably try to get you to work in the elementary school first. They take care of your paper work, but when I was offered a job there 8 years ago, they were only paying 5 k PLN/month. Probably hasn't changed much Smile One of the selling points on the job was that they had a week-long teacher training program in Greece each year. You don't need to be state-certified or anything to get a job there.
