I've been able to find out a little about Scouts in Mexico, but nothing really helpful. Anyone have experience with Scouts? My daughter is in grade 3 and my son would just be starting whatever they call the kindergarten level. I was in Scouts until I was 14 and I really enjoyed it (in Texas). |

There is a scouting organization that is co-ed. I've seen them around, but I'm not sure exactly what the name is nor how to contact them.
My kids are involved in different programs at the Casa de la Culture. Which I'd in every town ( usually one of the buildings on the main square.) While mainly plastic and performing arts, they do sometimes have other activities, like book circles or language classes. |

Didn't think of that until you mentioned it, but I know there is a Casa de Cultura in downtown San Jose. They do have a nice library system, it seems, in the area, too. The area's great for outdoor activities, which is why I thought of scouts, as well. |

When are the Scouts in Mexico going to update their uniforms? They seem to be wearing the original Brownsea Island 1908 version! |

Scouts seem to be pretty big in Mexico, I went to several stores which sell everything for scouts, uniforms, badges, camping supplies, etc.
Also, I was in the Zocalo in DF once and there was a huge convention of scouts there, both male/female. Hundreds if not thousands of Mexican youth wearing their uniforms from the scouts. |
