Hi,
I'm thinking of taking this course as a first course to get into teaching English. Has anyone here taken this course? What's it like? How well would it be regarded in comparison to a 4 week CELTA course?

I'd appreciate any advise! |

Hi Penguinoid,
I ended up doing a MA TESOL at Griffith, and it was really worth while. The staff are great- and I think the courses and assessment are really relevant to the types of things you do in the industry. You do a lot of research, and analyzing- there is a little bit of theory, but not too much.
The only thing I didn't like was the Conversation Analysis course- which was exactly that... and entire semester of analysing conversations in the classroom. But that was an elective anyway, so that course is not compulsory.
DO it! |

Overall, you are better off doing the CELTA or Trinity certTESOL for the brand recognition. However, there are other good programs but you need to check the syllabus carefully and make sure that you get the required teaching hours, etc. |
