Can anyone help please..... I am just finishing a foundation degree in teaching & learning from a university in the UK, as-well as holding a CELTA & having several years of teaching experience, both in the UK & overseas. However, when looking on job websites for Spain, most say the requirement is to have 'a recognised degree'- what does that mean exactly and which type is accepted/acknowledged? do I need a BA/Hons or will a foundation degree suffice?

Internationally, "recognized" generally refers to a minimum BA from an accredited university. But if you're unsure about the requirements indicate in a specific job ad, then send the recruiter/school a short email asking for clarification.

Frankly, if you plan on making TEFL a career, consider staying in school and completing a bachelor's degree. It will open more doors for you and put you in a better position to compete for jobs.

You sound more than qualified to work in most places Madrid, at least. I put all my qualifications on my CV but was never asked to produce any of them.

The thing about some parts of Spain is that there is often a a large disparity between what they'll ask for and what they'll accept. I would just say that I had a degree, anyway. You're worrying about nothing. Good luck.

Yes, CELTA plus experience and your degree (whether it was a MA or whatever) was in a highly relevant subject... You're better qualified than a LOT of the applicants schools are going to be getting.
