Can anyone recommend a good location in Japan to study Buddhism and martial arts while I work?
Thank you for reading. |

Which martial art, what kind of Buddhism? Shorinji Kempo, based in Kagawa Prefecture, comes to mind, as does Katori Shinto Ryu in Chiba Prefecture.
Do you know about the Budo University in Chiba? It's in the central part of the Boso Peninsula.
I recommend you ask on Budo forums like E-Budo and Martial Arts Planet, too. |

On the Buddhism side, Kyoto and Nara come to mind. It depends what kind of Buddhism that you are looking for, e.g., Zen, Pureland, Shingon, Tien Tai and so on. There isn't much going on in the Tokyo area so I would definitely look at living somewhere like Kyoto or Nara for Buddhist study. |
