Don´t know if I should laugh or cry. Scotland announces a deficit of 14 billion quid and these elected knobs are squabbling over street names.
BTW what division are the mighty Stirling ALBION in now? |

The name Albion is of Greek, not English origin. Are there many Hellenophobes in Govan? |

A devout royalist? Not quite. In my youth I would have done what the French and Russians did with their Royals. I was also a fan of Willie Hamilton (?), an old Scottish MP who detested the monarchy. Now I look at our European neighbours and can´t make my mind up which is better, monarchy or republic. I certainly don´t envy any of the Royals and wouldn´t swap places with any of them.

Difficult to say but I think I would rather be a subject of QE2 or Felipe VI than a subject of King Salman of KSA or King whatever his name is who dictates in Bahrain. The Norwegians, Dutch and Belgians appear to have the ideal monarchies. |

Of course, the monarchies of Norway and Netherlands make the Queen EII looks poor! |
