For me, and without a shadow of a doubt AUSTRALIA. However, I would say that if you had to invent a country and FRANCE didn´t exist, you would invent FRANCE! OZ and France are tops. |

Mexico is my first and last love as always and she gets my top billing.
But to break from the usual, I will throw Colombia out there as a top choice. Very enamored with her right now after having spent some time in Bogota. |

I'll take Ireland, though Malta is a very, very close second. |

My favourite was The Big Rock Candy Mountain. Alas, I was deported for a series of aggravated misdemeanours. |

Norway. It has stunning, dramatic scenery including wonderful mountains, coastal fjords, glaciers and islands. It is great for hiking, skiing and fishing.
It is very stable, environmentally friendly and well-functioning with universal health care and free education for all. The vast majority of people are pretty fluent at English too. |

Many years ago I had the pleasure of teaching Norwegian youngsters on summer courses in the UK. Many of the kids were more articulate in Englsh than the host families from whom they were supposed to be learning. |

I would have to say Morroco, but just because it was so different from places I have lived and/or visited, once of the only times I have ever felt foreign anywhere I have travelled. Also, have never been to Australia but have met lots of Aussies and the ones I have met - a fairly large sample - have just been awesome people, so I think just based on that it would be a great place to visit. |

One man's meat and all that. A year with the BC Casablanca was the most pointless thing I've ever done. Teaching was fine, but the city was dusty and dangerous with no sights, nothing to do and bars full of men, men and more men. Morocco was the odd one out in my TEFLing days as it was the only country I never grew to like nor have I visited since.
Just my opinion. |

Going on holiday vs. living/working somewhere often produces very very different impressions, but this thread doesn't seem to differentiate. My 'best country' for living/working is quite different from 'best country to visit' -Croatia so far, in my case. |

Best Country worked in, Czech Republic. Friendly people and low cost of living. Nice scenery and good beer!
Best country visited, New Zealand. Laid back lifestyle, beautiful scenery everywhere and no pollution. |
