Will Germany do it?
How about England? 10 wins in 10 qualifying matches! Does it mean anything though?
Albania and Iceland, first Euro appearance...and for that matter...in any major tournament of any kind...EVER!
Any surprises like Denmark in 1992 or Greece in 2004?
No Netherlands!
24 team-format better than a 16-team format?
I was hoping that Scotland would have also gotten in to have a tournament with all 4 UK teams in...NOPE.
Toughest group? Group D? Group E?
...and on and on it goes.
It all kicks off on Friday, June 10th: France v. Romania in the Stade de France.

England need to make some radical changes before they have a chance of winning any tournaments.
They always do the same thing and it never works. Instead of nurturing the under 21 team into a well rounded international team, they just throw all the individual "stars" into a system they aren't comfortable with and hope for the best
They always do well in qualifying because they are usually drawn with the likes of Lithuania and Luxembourg. Gives people a false sense of expectation. |

I'd be all right with a Germany v. England final. If both finish top of their respective groups, it could happen.

Me, too. Especially if the result of their recent meeting is repeated. 
Germany and France are the obvious favourites even if the hosts have shot themselves in the foot by excluding Benzema. England´s young team could surprise us- they even have a top-class goalie for the first time in years. As long as Spain don´t win.  |

In 2018 without Roy, yes.
My predictions:
- Rooney will start every game.
- Bale will tear England apart on 16th June. This game is on a Thursday at 2pm UK time. Nice one, UEFA.
- England finish third in Group B, but as one of the four best-placed teams, they'll play Group C winner (Germany) or Group D winner (Spain)*.
* This is my understanding from UEFA's waffly website.

Dear Phil_K,
Amazing how you can know what someone you're never met knows and doesn't know. Must be a very handy talent. 
Afraid you talent went astray in this case. though. You see, I spent over 20 years in places where the only "football" on TV was what we Yanks tend to call soccer. So, I've watched many a game, know the rules, and have my favorite teams.
But I'll refrain from "having my say," since I don't want to compete with real scholars of the sport - such as yourself, I'm sure.
I pick my battles.
