Does anyone have experience teaching at UNSIS in Miahuatlan de Porfirio Diaz? Is that in the boondocks compared to Oaxaca City? I'm interested in knowing about the culture, ability to interact with the locals and enjoy certain festivals and holidays there, etc. I know it's about 2 hours from Oaxaca city but those on the ground may have more information to offer. Thank you.

You should post in the Mexico forum. Also search there. UNSIS is part of the SUNEO system and there are plenty of past threads on this. Manhattan is a small town which will give you a much better opportunity to interact with locals than you would ever get in the city. Oaxaca City performs for foreigners, so the festivalas, holidays and culture on offer there tends to beperformance-y. |
