Hi, does anyone live in a furnished hotel apartment? Got a position with AED8000 housing allowance, is that enough to rent a studio at a hotel? I am sure it depends where, just want to have an idea.
I lived in the UAE before, in Fujairah, where this money was plenty.
Thanks for any input.

Sure, it is doable.

You can balance out where you are working and transportation costs and calculate that into the mix.

Try the Bin Majid (me and my wife stayed here and it's 5.5k currently for a month on booking.com) on Mina Street or the Al-Diar Dana Hotel in Tourist club area.
However, they'll try and screw you if you just walk in in most places so ring and negotiate. 8k sounds like a lot but, negotiate or it won't be enough. I went into many places when I first arrived in AD and some wanted 11-12k a month and were pits.
