Hello all,
I interviewed with HKEB back in the spring and passed the initial interview. I know, I know that's the easy part.
I wasn't able to get my final transcript in from my master's degree until the end of July. I'm assuming they have already filled all positions by now. Just this week they are requesting another letter from me regarding my practicum. I just find it all strange. When I read the job boards, I see that they hardly hire from outside HK.
Am I wasting my time jumping through the hoops? What's the point? Has anyone been hired from outside of HK?
Thanks |

I'd say you've more chance with Sec than Pri. On the induction last year something like 3 or 4 of the 50 were hired from their home countries and they were all SNETs.
It's not a massive hassle to get the last few docs, is it? At this stage I would complete the process. Once you're in the scheme's pool of potential teachers you're in for as long as you like. Then just needs one school to be willing to give you a chance. Don't get your hopes up mind, will still be very challenging to land a position. |
