Has anyone recently received a work visa from KAU?

Does anyone know if government universities/institutes are currently issuing work visas? Does anyone have any information about the availability of work visas, especially after the recent arrests?

Arrests that impact the availability of visas? Confused

Are you assuming that the public unis can't obtain employment visas at all and are relying business/work visit visas? Or that no visas are being issued at this time?

What recent arrests? Of whom?

Nothing has been reported here of any teachers being arrested.

I think he is referring to the recent arrests of members of the Royal Family like Waleed bin Talal.

Can't see much relevance to EFL teachers for the political games of the royal family.

If any teacher had been arrested or deported for not having an iqama, we would have heard about it here... repeatedly...

My apologies... Just to clarify, I was trying to clarify if the recent purge/arrest of Royals and Ministers had any impact on the availability of work visas?

A few colleagues have been waiting for visas since November 2017, one friend is still waiting to hear from KAU.
Friends on the ground have told me they are working overtime due to the shortage of staff, so I was hoping for some feedback.

Merci

The need for foreign teachers has zero impact on the visa authorization/processing times with the Foreign Affairs and Labor ministries. Wait times can be longer during peak hiring seasons.

Folks should confirm the tentative start date (i.e., month, academic year) during their interview.

... and in no way assume that to be a reliable estimate. Wink
