This news article published today seems to complicate the process for work permit authentication.
What exactly has to be authenticated by the British Embassy/consulate in order to get a WP. Anybody with recent experience of doing this willing to give us a list?
I am considering flying up to Hanoi and getting a bunch of stuff done before the deadline - 13th November, but don't want to miss anything out.
I would have posted in the sticky but it is locked. |

I thought this was the most interesting part of the linked article: "According to the embassy, the changes will help to free up time for British consular staff to provide more support for its most vulnerable citizens such as minors, the elderly, people with mental health problems and victims of serious crime."
I expect there must be a rush of unaccompanied UK subject minors roaming around Vietnam. They certainly must require a lot of Embassy staff time. The mission should remember too that the Venn diagrams of EFL teachers and "people with mental health problems" could have substantial overlap. |
