Howdy, I am in Vancouver, Canada, intending to return to Saigon to teach early in the new year. I went to the Vancouver Police Department to get a criminal record check, and was told to my astonishment there are now TWO kinds of criminal record check - one based on name etc and one based on fingerprints.
Setting aside the criminal obtuseness of this bureaucracy, does anyone out there happen to know which kind is required for a teaching visa in VN? I taught in Saigon last in 2008 and cannot remember what kind of criminal record check I got at that time - perhaps there was only one then.
I thought of getting both kinds to be safe but they are a little pricey - $85 for one and $70 for the other. Any wisdom appreciated. I shall inquire of the Vietnamese embassy here too of course. |
