The UAE is also jerking into a 5% VAT. Everything seems to be up for taxation, even the remittances sent home. The Gulf states have to consider that the holiday and shopping destinations that have blossomed in their sunny climate cannot be sustained by local interest alone. Friday is still a day to sit and spend time with family and maybe go out to the farm. That attitude does not fill the adventure park venues. |
