I would appreciate if anyone can provide any latest information regarding SBC. I am planning on applying to SBC via recruiters, but I heard (nothing confirmed) that SBC is laying off expat ESL teachers. I don't wish to apply for a company that is already kicking their staff out.
Thanks in advance! |

It depends on which SBC client you intend to apply for. They likely wouldn't be advertising for locations that don't need teachers.
Generally, expat layoffs occur due to any or all of the following:
• Nonrenewal of the contract with the client (i.e., university, college, etc.).
• Reduced number of vacancies than what was anticipated for the upcoming year.
• Weeding out teachers who no longer meet job and/or visa requirements.
• A decision to reduce the company's business costs.
• Saudization.
