I am looking on the CDC's website right now and I am also a little curious about some of the vaccinations they are recommending before visiting Qatar.
They are saying most travelers should get vaccinated for:
Hepatitis A
Typhoid

My question is: are these pretty prevalent over there? |

Those recommended vaccinations are typical for travelers to the Mid East. I received them including Hep B and a tetanus booster before heading abroad.
They're optional, but if you want a layer of protection against these diseases, contact your local public health clinic and urgent care centers in your area about travel vaccinations. Prices can vary. |

I always made sure that my tetanus was up to date. Hep shots are probably a good idea for everywhere in the world, including your home country.
If you are the type who ends up working with street dogs/cats as many of my friends have done, the rabies vaccine is probably a good idea too.
