|
|
Hi Everyone,
In this discussion of online certification for US citizens, with a bachelor's degree in something else, it appears that American Board for Certification for Teacher Excellence may be the best starting place.
It's $1900 USD, gives a 12-month time limit (for about 7 months of work in online courses). If a person passes the coursework and 2 Pearson standardized tests, then they receive an alternative certification good for 12 states (Florida, Idaho, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Utah).
Any opinions or reviews?
(Teacher Ready is for-profit, so I would always side with a non-profit; but, of course, someone must be judicious). |

As someone with extensive experience in the k-12 system both stateside and abroad, I advise anyone coming across these threads to remember that there are no shortcuts in life.
Be careful with your time and money |

Don't count on automatically receiving a k12 license from any of these states. You'd still have to meet each jurisdiction's specific requirements. |
