|
|
My friend and I were having a discussion about how some colleges bring in teachers and then fire them en mass- in dozens. With no reason. And then bring in another two dozen new teachers. NITI did that when we were there, after promising all of us we would all be managers. And as we were all leaving- 18 of us, a new batch was arriving.
NPA did it. They fired 15 teachers and had to pay severance pay. It was like $7000 per teacher, so do the math.
Isn't it costly? It's the foreign managers who keep doing it. They think they are Gods or something. Disrupting classes, confusing students, and in addition, it must cost a bundle to fire and rehire people. Tickets, visas, hotels again.
TQ was doing it in Kuwait. Firing almost weekly and then bringing in another teacher.
Don't the Gulf clients see it and see how their very big money is being spent on this nonsense after teachers have been brought over?
My friend has suggested that it may be a part of some mysterious money making scheme. Something having to do with travel agencies perhaps? Or something even more sinister?
The managers who fire people en mass walk around cocky like they own the place, too,
What is going on? Is there a conspiracy?
Any ideas? |

Now that you bring it up, it does sound suspicious. Why would they fire teachers in large batches? This raises ideas. |

The travel agencies would definitely be making money out of it by flying all these teachers in and out all the time, likely with specific airlines too. Maybe there's some form of money laundering going on with the managers as the main scheme but what the set up is who can say? Really seems a very odd situation not to mention disruptive and time wasting for the teachers. |
