I have heard that native English speakers may find work in Bangladesh for high-level English students who are studying IELTS/TOEFL in order to attend university abroad; and that they are paid quite well. Can this be so? |

Doubtful. Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world., not likely to be able to support high salary, good accommodation, benefits package jobs.
High level students more likely to go abroad for IELTS prep. |

I actually visited Bangladesh this month, my thoughts:
- the country is poor, but still, there are some people who are rich. Education is very important for many parents and students. The market actually seems to be quite big (the population is over 160 million, so even if we assume that only 10% can afford quality studying, that gives us 16 million people, more than population of some other countries). People definitely want to study abroad.
- there are plenty of language schools, they always offer IELTS, some advertised other courses. I was just travelling around, so I did not ask or check any of them.
- there is British Council in Dhaka and Khulna (and maybe somewhere else, probably in Chittagong) - I would probably start with checking if they are not recruiting.
To be honest, I don't think I have ever seen a job advert from Bangladesh, and I have absolutely no idea what salary you could get there. |

Thanks juriusz. This is what my Bangladeshi friends were talking about. The market isn't such that the schools advertise, but if a qualified ESL
/IELTS teacher showed up, he would find people interested in hiring him/her.
Everyone else: please keep your thoughts and the information coming. |
