Ukraine is one of the countries that still has to "mislead" ESL teachers mostly Americans to work here illegally. There is no legitimate contract from these schools. If you do a simple search of that particular school you will see there are only negative feedbacks from former American teachers that were scammed and left Ukraine with a bitter impression of their time here as a teacher. If you are considering working here do your homework! The schools look for naive wanna-be teachers to come here at their own expense and then give you the impression you will be working here legally for some time. But you are legally only allowed to be in Ukraine no longer than 90 days! (another post mentions this rule). Furthermore you are not allowed to work legally during this 90 days! Ukraine works on the biometric passport system now and all your entries/exits are PERMANENTLY recorded on an International database. So if you overstay past 90 days it is considered a serious violation and you will be BANNED from Ukraine. Also, it can be used against you if you try to visit or work in other countries! So if a school promises to get you a visa then they have to do it before you enter Ukraine or otherwise it's a ruse to lure you here and then use you until they can find another teacher to take your place. |
